(Walker 518) Despite appearing to be glad for her physical ability, Mama shows disappointment with herself when she starts to consider Dee, recalling that while Dee ââ¬Å"would consistently look anybody in the eyeâ⬠, (Walker 518) Mama herself can't. At the point when we first observe Maggie, she is ââ¬Å"almost covered up by the doorâ⬠. (Walker 518) Maggieââ¬â¢s character stays covered up to the peruser for the greater part of the story â⬠it is just towards the end, and conversely with Dee, that we are given her pr ofundity of character.
